ILS-VIwillalsocontainnewmaterialintheareaofimmunizations,whichwillcomprise10%ofyourgradein thiscourse.TheAmericanPharmacist’sAssociation“Pharmacy-BasedImmunizationDelivery”certification programwillbeused.Thisisaninnovativeandinteractivetrainingprogramthatteachespharmacists(and students)theskillsnecessarytobecomeaprimarysourceforvaccineinformationandadministration.The programteachesthebasicsofimmunologyandfocusesonpracticeimplementationandlegal/regulatory issues. Therearethreecomponentstothecertificate-trainingprogram: • Self-studymoduleswithcasestudiesandassessmentexam • Liveseminarwithfinalexam • Hands-onassessmentofintramuscularandsubcutaneousinjectiontechnique ACertificateofAchievementisawardedtoparticipantswhosuccessfullycompleteallactivityrequirements, whichincludetheself-studycomponent,livetrainingseminar,andtheinjectiontechniqueassessment. Successfulcompletionisdefinedasascoreof70%orbetteronboththeself-studyandliveseminar assessments. 1. StudentPortfolios: Studentsarerequiredtoprepare,maintain,andsubmitaportfolioasevidenceofachievementoflearning outcomes.Thisportfolioalsoreflectsthestudent’sevolvingprofessionalgrowthfromthebeginningtothe completionoftheDoctorofPharmacyprogram. Goalsoftheportfolioprocess: 1.Documentstudents’progressiveachievementoftheschool’scompetenciesthroughoutthe curriculumandpracticeexperiences. 2.Documentstudents’self-assessmentandpreceptorassessmentsofeducationaloutcomes. Theportfoliomustcontaintherequireditems(artifacts)bytheendoftheSpringsemesteroftheP3year. Informationregardingtherequiredartifactsforthissemesterwillbegiventoyouatthebeginningofthe semester.
