In 2011, there were 6,825 people who self-identified as Aboriginal living in Waterloo Region. Located in Southern
Ontario, one hour West of Toronto and in close proximity to Six Nations, Oneida, Muncey and Chippewa of the
Thames, New Credit providing access to culture and traditional teachings and practices. Six Nations is the largest
populated First Nation community in Canada.
Known as Canada’s Technology Triangle, the region includes two universities and a community college.
