Undergraduate Minor in Nonprofit Management and Leadership The nonprofit sector is responsible for roughly 10% of the U.S. economy with respect to jobs, organizations, and financial assets. When the number of Americans who volunteer every year -- approximately ¼ of the population -- is taken into consideration the role and importance of the NP sector become even larger. The Minor explains how NPOs must use principles and practices derived from the private sector to make optimal use of financial and human resources, including volunteers.
