OnJune30,2014,Senatewillhavefivevacantmember‐at‐largepositions.ElectedSenatorswillserve
three‐yeartermsbeginningJuly1,2014.NominationsforSenatearedueonMarch1andmustbe
signedbyatleastthree(3)qualifiedvotersandendorsedbythenominee.Nominationformsand

Atthefallmeeting,SenateapprovedtheProceduresforNominationstoSenateStanding
Committees,andconfirmedapprovaloftheSenateBylawsamendmentsapprovedinprincipleat
theSenatemeetingofApril20,2013.ThankyoutocommitteechairDonnaTaylorand
committeemembersLoriIsinger,JimPulfer,LorneCalvertandFayPuckettfortheirserviceon
thiscommittee.
SenateMembershipCommittee
TheMembershipCommitteeisconductingthefive‐yearstatusreviewoforganizationshaving
representativesonSenateasrequiredbyTheUniversityofSaskatchewanAct,1995.Asurvey
seekingfeedbackhasbeensenttoallmemberorganizations.
Pleasecontactanyprofessionalsocietiesorotherorganizationsthatyouthinkshouldbeon
Senate,thatarenotalreadythere,andinvitethemtoseeknominationbycompletingand
sendinganominationformtotheUniversitySecretary’soffice.AccordingtotheAct
organizationsonSenatearetocontributeinasignificantwaytothesocial,economicandcultural
welfareofSaskatchewanandhaveademonstratedinterestinfurtheringthegoalsofhigher
educationandresearchattheuniversity.

ThenewEducationCommitteewillbemeetingforthefirsttimeinFebruary.Watchforfurther
emailsseekingyourinputonopportunitiesforeducationorexplorationofissuesatfuture
Senatemeetings.
SenateNominationsCommittee
TheNominationsCommitteewillbemeetinginMarchtofillcommitteevacanciesfornextterm.
PleasecompletetheSenatecommitteeinterestformifyouareinterestedinservingonanyofthe
standingcommitteesandreturntomyofficebyMarch1.Wewouldalsoverymuchappreciate
