UNCW Faculty Senate Resolution to President Tom Ross and the UNC Board of Governors
October 16, 2012
Whereas, UNC President Tom Ross and the Board of Governors have appointed a UNC advisory
committee to define the University’s strategic directions for 2013-2018;
Whereas, The successful implementation of the UNC strategic plan necessitates the engagement of the
UNC system faculty through their teaching, research, and service to the university,
Resolved, That, the Faculty of UNCW fully endorse the Resolution on the UNC Strategic Plan passed by
the UNC Faculty Assembly on September 21, 2012; which requests the appointment of a faculty strategic
plan advisory group with representation from all UNC campuses.
Resolved, That, the faculty of UNCW commend President Ross and BOG Chairman Hans for responding
positively by appointing the faculty advisory board requested by the Faculty Assembly.
