Integrated Training Program in Infectious Diseases, Food Safety and Public Policy (ITraP) University of Saskatchewan • • • substantial economic and social costs. Effective prevention and mitigation requires a coordinated effort by a diverse team spanning disciplines and borders. ITraP is an exciting initiative that offers new opportunities to graduate students interested in interdisciplinary team science and One Health approaches to complex issues. Curriculum The Program • Infectious disease outbreaks and food safety issues can lead to Trains students to apply science expertise to careers in government, industry and academia. Promotes team science and studentled learning through intensive case studies and advanced seminars. Explores One Health approaches to resolve real-world problems at the human-animal-environment interface. Generates international connections through participation of students and faculty based worldwide. • Collaborates with partners in academia, industry and government in curriculum development and externship placements. • Facilitates a broad learning environment and work experiences in different parts of the world and with diverse organizations. • Academic courses: ONEH 800 & ONEH 801. • Week-long international summer school. • Externship placement to apply training to novel One Health challenges.
