Nominations for Faculty Senate Representatives
The Faculty Senate, which represents the interests of PVAMU’s faculty, has been productive this
year. It was central to the process that resulted in PVAMU sponsoring the faculty compensation
study. It also passed key resolutions, including one that urged President Wright to challenge the
new campus carry law and another on the proper role of the faculty in student recruitment activities.
In order for the Senate to continue its important work, it seeks faculty who are committed to serving
their colleagues and enriching PVAMU. Senators are elected to two-year terms and may serve no
more than two consecutive terms. Each college is allocated one Senate seat for every ten full-time
faculty members or fraction thereof.
You should already have been contacted by a representative from your College, so this is just a
friendly reminder. Please consider nominating yourself to serve on this very important body, or
please consider nominating one or more of your colleagues.
Nomination Procedure: All full-time faculty members are eligible to serve on the Faculty
Senate. The nomination process opened on March 28, 2016 and will close on April 8,
2016. To submit a nomination, email the name of your nominee(s) to Dr. Michael Nojeim at
