2015/2016 Meal Plan Membership Contract (Students)
Duration of Marquis Hall Meals within your Meal Plan Membership: Term 1: Begins with Brunch on Sunday, August 30, 2015 and finishes with Supper on Saturday, November 7, 2015. Closed during the November break (Nov 8 -­‐ 14). Meals resume with Brunch on Sunday, November 15, 2015 and runs until Supper on Tuesday, December 23, 2015. Term 2: Begins with Supper on Sunday January 3, 2016 and finishes with Supper on Saturday, February 13, 2016. Closed during the February break (Feb 14 – 20). Meals resume with Brunch on Sunday, February 21, 2016 and runs until Supper on Thursday, April 30, 2016. What your Meal Plan Membership contract includes: The Garry Dining Room in Marquis Hall is the primary location for meal plans and provides unlimited dining for breakfast, lunch and supper. Please visit www.usask.ca/culinaryservices for hours of operation and additional information. All meals at Marquis Hall are “unlimited dining” buffet style. While students are welcome to eat what they like, we encourage you to take only what you will eat and take responsibility to reduce wasted food. You cannot take food out of the dining room. Taking food from the dining room could result in non-­‐academic discipline. Your meal plan is non-­‐transferable. It is valid for and usable only by the person to whom the plan has been sold. You cannot cancel one meal plan and then select a different meal plan. Meals/per Week plans must be used before the end of the term for which the plan was purchased. Term 1 meal plans expire on December 23, 2015 following supper. Term 2 meal plans expire Thursday, April 30, 2016 following supper. Your weekly meal plan is non-­‐transferable. It is valid for and usable only by the person to whom the plan has been sold. Please note, meals during the November & February Breaks are not factored into the “Meals per Week” plans therefore non-­‐
active during the November & February Breaks. •

Non Weekly plans for meals at Marquis Hall, (ie. 75 meals, 50 meals, 25 meals and any of the three Combination Plans and/or Cash Card $) can be used in Term 1 and/or Term 2 as well as during the November/February Break. Non Weekly plans for meals at Marquis Hall are valid for and usable by the person to whom the plan has been sold, in addition to guests that the purchaser may invite. The person carrying the meal plan card must be present at time of redemption and must redeem a meal for themselves as well as their guests. Non Weekly Meal plans will be valid until April 30, 2016 and will not be extended. If you have special dietary needs or concerns, please consult with Culinary Services prior to signing up for a meal membership. Vegetarian options are available at every Marquis Hall meal. The University reserves the right to make adjustments as needed to meal times and locations. Culinary Services reserves the right to refuse service if you are not carrying your valid student ID card. •

5% GST is applicable to plans that are less than 10 meals per week per term. On the combination plans GST has been calculated in the cost of meals at Marquis Hall, GST on the Cash Card (CC) portion will be added at point of purchase. •

CC can be used at any of our designated University Culinary Services retail outlets year round. For a list of locations and hours of operation, please view: www.usask.ca/culinaryservices/ Please note that USSU food services do not accept the CC. Please note that you can use your CC at A&W located on the first floor of the Arts building, Subway located on the 2nd floor Physical Activity Complex (PAC), Starbucks in the Main Library, and the Tim Hortons outlets on the first floor of Marquis Hall and the Geology location, and at the Tim Hortons in the Arts/Place Riel tunnel. When using your student card to access your CC, please inform the cashier that you are paying for your retail food purchases with your CC (Cash Card). GST is charged at the time of purchase on your CC (Cash Card). 1
Cancellation Policy •
CC dollars are non-­‐refundable and are valid until you are no longer an active U of S student or employee. •
Meal memberships are non-­‐refundable and can only be terminated if you withdraw from the University. In that situation, you are required to provide written notice and proof of your withdrawal to Culinary Services. Meal Plans are refundable with 30 days’ notice of your last meal. A 15% administration charge of the original purchase price will be retained by the University of Saskatchewan. A refund will be made by cheque, mailed to the address that you provide. Please allow 15 working days for the University to process your refund. If you paid by credit card or debit refunds will be processed by Culinary Services. ID Card Use: •

You must be an active student or staff member and already have a University ID card. In the event that you do not have an ID card, please contact the Campus ID Card Office. www.usask.ca/consumer_services/cardoffice/ For your protection and security, you are the only person authorized to use your ID card. Your University ID card is your meal card, and is required for entry into Marquis Hall and to make CC purchases. The barcode on the front of your ID card is your U of S library barcode. The magnetic strip on the back of your card contains your Meal membership. If your ID card is lost or stolen, you must obtain a new card from the Campus ID Card Office as soon as possible. Once you receive a replacement card, your old card is no longer valid. Meal plan activation is a manual process. Please contact Culinary Services, Monday to Friday between 10:00am-­‐4:00pm to activate your Meal membership on your replacement card. As the card holder, you are responsible for all purchases and the card is valid to you only. Meal Plan Fact Sheet •

Cost Savings: The plan is less expensive than if you were to purchase the same number of meals at regular retail price. Variety: Marquis Hall Culinary Centre offers a variety of food stations – Breakfast, Salads, Deli, Chefs Station, Grill, Wok, Pizza, Soup, Dessert and Beverage. Marquis Hall meals allow for unlimited trips to all food stations. Meals are cooked in smaller batches, allowing fresher products and home-­‐cooked flavour. Special diets are more easily accommodated. Convenience: No grocery shopping, no transportation costs, no dishwashing, no food preparation – allowing you to maximize your time management. Extended meal times allow you the flexibility to use your plan when it is most convenient for you. Culinary Service supports local producers by offering as many local Saskatchewan products on a regular basis as well as when seasonably available and also promotes socially responsible purchasing practices such as Fair Trade Coffee, Cage Free Eggs, and Sustainable Seafood. Location: Marquis Hall overlooks the Bowl and offers one of the best dining room views on campus. 2
