Students planning to pursue licensure should apply to the WCE as soon as admissions requirements are met (typically in the sophomore year) and plan their programs in regular consultation with their advisors. Teacher licensure requirements are established at the state level and may be changed by the state at any time. NOTE: Up to 6 hrs of appropriate courses from outside the ENG department may be counted toward the major or minor. An overall GPA of “C” (2.00) or better is required among courses used to satisfy the major. NOTE: No more than 12 hours may be at the 200-level.
