A comprehensive set of predefined inventory transactions
simplifies workflow administration and creates a user-friendly
interface requiring minimal manual input with an excellent
audit trail and visibility. In addition, the seamless integration
with the rest of the Qmuzik ERP supply chain activities results in
real-time visibility of financial data, on-hand stock balances,
detailed transaction history, full serial/lot number tracking and
shelf life details. Contract-specific rules and requirements are
identified, exposed and enforced and contract- ownership is
retained, as well as co-mingling rules for stock sharing with
other projects.
All standard inventory movements are provided for and
covers the entire spectrum of stock take-on movements (from
Suppliers, Manufacturing, Interplant orders, By-products and
Unplanned receipts), Quality inspections as per-part
inspection requirements, Stock issuing and returns, Stock
adjustments, Stock transfers, Stock scrap, Reworks,
Modifications, Quarantine corrective actions, Concessions,
Deviations and management of Working life. Shipping of
sales orders, over-the-counter sales and the rework and repair
of customer equipment are also included as standard
features.
Qmuzik Inventory Management delivers a rich set of special
features including:

Online Visibility - a robust set of online search, analysis and
inquiry functions support the management of inventory.
These include item searches based on engineering- and
planning attributes, graphical visibility of supply and
demand information, lot and serial tracking and detailed
audit trails of inventory transaction history.
Inventory can be analysed on a multitude of criteria, which
includes Stock status, store locations, product lines, quality
status, ownership and many more.

Material Control for Expensed Items - the ability to easily
track and control expensed items in inventory using
normal inventory control processes.

Installed Equipment Base - automatic population of the
installed equipment database upon shipment of serialised
products and the ability to define multiple equipment
denomination of life units with easy denomination of life
consumption.

Requisition Workflow for Material Issues – the option to
initiate workflow-based requisition control over material
issues from stores as well as the ability to reference
replenishment orders to either requisitions or requirements,
which leads to allocation of inventory upon receipt
Crating and Containerization - multi-level container
packing and shipment with the ability to carry containers
on the books as assets for location control and tracking.


Other management tools include Supply and demand
analysis, ABC analysis and reclassification, Cycle counting
and adjustments, Price scenarios, Identification and
management of hazardous or special control materials,
optional predefined bin locations per store and stock status,
part pack quantities, label printing and optional scanner
interfaces.
Also included is comprehensive functionality for multiple units
of measure conversions per item in order to procure and sell
in alternate units of measure. Standard items and part
substitution (as per rules) are also exposed and applied where
stock shortages occur.
Regarding stock valuation, a number of options are provided
for standard- and average costing.
A very dynamic material requirements planning (MRP)
function is provided, which can be executed on demand as
and when required.
Qmuzik MRP has excellent capabilities to perform materials
planning for dependent- and independent demand, safety
stock, test pieces and additional pieces and scrap provision.
In the process, it pegs and interprets contract specific rules for
sourcing, customer furnished equipment and make/buy
decisions, as well lot sizing rules, shelf life and lead-time.
The MRP tool has embedded simulation capabilities to test
‘what-if’ scenarios and to promptly act on changes in or
threats to supply.

Serial and Lot Number Control - serial and/or lot number
control rules are automatically enforced throughout all
inventory control processes. Serial number tracking and
serial number position annotations with online visibility as
well as where used capability of serialised or lot controlled
components

Flexible Stores Security - security over a specific material
location can be set at store level (i.e. an authorised
employee can perform all transactions affecting inventory
at that store) or at transaction level (i.e. certain
employees are authorised for specific transactions only for
a specific store)

Contract Discrete – contracts and projects are integrated
into the system on all levels of the supply chain resulting in
total visibility of contract- and project stock ownership.
Predefined, flexible rules govern per contract the extent to
which stock can be shared with other contracts and
projects.

Co-mingling Of Inventory - co-mingling rules are set
between different project groups and are adhered to
throughout the replenishment cycle and the stock
distribution and application between different projects

Contract Discrete Cost - contract discrete costing and
cost projections as well as income and balance sheet per
contract

Customer Furnished Stock - stock ownership of customer
furnished items as well as inventory being the property of
trading partners are protected in the inventory system and
although valued for insurance purposes are not included
in the company balance sheet

Stock Status and Condition - the stock record of a part
can reflect stock in a status of New, Used, Awaiting repair
and Repaired whilst also reflecting conditions such an
obsolescence, usability, quarantine status, shelf life,
working life and allocation details. The remaining life of
used inventory can also reflected per serial number. Stock
allocated and applied for hire purposes is also identified
and managed accordingly via site movements and
billing.

Part Shelf Life - recording the shelf life of parts upon
receipt with an analysis workbench to simulate the expiry
of shelf life of the inventory from different perspectives.
Parts with extendable shelf life can be managed
accordingly. Working life can also be man-aged
extensively once a limited shelf life item has been
removed from its ideal storage condition (perishable
items, composite materials etc.).

Hazardous and other controlled items – extensive
functionality is provided for the management of
hazardous items (dangerous goods regulation items), with
the ability to perform hazard classifications and storage
compatibility classes. The hazard classes, storage
compatibility, storage volumes and storage license validity
and restrictions are adhered to during all inventory
movements and predefined permits required for
transportation are enforced via permits and permit
requirements. Other items that may require identification
and special control (e.g. controlled defence items) are
also catered for.
