The Clinical Instructor Nurse Educator Course is intended to give new nurse educators a toolbox of knowledge, skills and abilities. This will assist the nurse educator to operationalize learning objectives into meaningful scenarios for learners and follow up with the appropriate evaluation. This knowledge and ability can be adapted to clinical situations, simulation and laboratory settings and into the practice area of the clinical nurse educator. Participants will be able to use these techniques to engage, evaluate and be effective in the educator role. Learning Objectives By the end of the course, participants will be able to: demonstrate an understanding of foundational educational practices develop tools to coordinate effective clinical, lab or classroom experiences choose appropriate assessment and evaluation techniques for a variety of settings build a network to enhance professional support in the educator role This online, asynchronous course provides content in modules. This allows participants to learn what’s necessary for their interest or practice. Don’t use debriefing – skip this module. Need pointers on creating learning objectives? Start on that information.
