How to Apply for an Education Abroad Grant
Education Abroad Grant Applications and References must be received by the deadlines below:
Short-term Spring Programs: January 15
Summer Programs: March 1
Fall Semester Programs: March 15
Short-Term Fall Programs: May 1
Spring Semester Programs: October 15
1. Sign into your UNCW SeaNet Account
2. Go to the “Student Services & Financial Aid” section

3. Select “Financial Aid”
4. Click “Apply for Scholarships”

5. Click “Apply for Scholarship”
6. You are now at the UNCW Scholarship Applicant Home page. Look for the “Education Abroad Grant Application”
on the home page. Click “Start Application”
7. Fill out the application.

a. Section 1: International Programs
Fill out the appropriate information about your program (example below)
b. Section 2: Transcripts
i. Save your transcript from Seanet onto your computer
(click here for how to save your transcript from Seanet)

ii. Click “Choose File”
iii. Select your recently saved .html transcript file
iv. Click “Upload File”
v. Make sure your file successfully uploaded by noting the green “Upload Complete” text on the
application

c. Section 3: Letter of Recommendation
Write the name & email address of the person you would like to write your recommendation letter.
They will receive an email upon submitting your application. YOU ONLY NEED TO HAVE ONE
RECOMMENDATION LETTER PER APPLICATION. The second and third name slots are for backup
recommendations only.
d. Section 4: Short Essay – All Applicants
Write your essay according to the prompt.
If you are applying for the program in Swansea, Wales, complete the second essay as well.

e. Section 5: Certification Statement
Select “Yes” & Click “Save and continue to summary page >>”
8. Review your application – make sure you filled out everything accurately and appropriately. Make changes if
necessary.

9. Click “Submit Application”
10. Your grant application is now complete!

Checking your recommendation status:
A. Return to the “Applicant Home” page

B. Click “Recommendations” under the “Education Abroad Grant Application” section
C. If the recommendation has been completed, it will say “Done!” next to that person’s name. If it has not yet been
completed, you have the option to withdraw that recommendation or send a reminder email. Don’t forget to
click “Save and return” if you make any changes to this page.
How to Save your Unofficial Transcript from SeaNet:

5. Select appropriate transcript
