Reason: Overridden by administrator. UNC does not typically have a large portion of its interest expense allocated to instruction due to the fact that most instruction is provided from facilities constructed and maintained through direct state appropriation. Any debt and subsequent interest related to the maintenance and construction of these facilities is incurred at the state wide level in North Carolina and is not recorded in an individual university’s audited financial statement.
