American Disabilities Act (ADA) / Department of Insurance (DOI) Requirements Maintenance Backlog Need Repair known ADA/DOI deficiencies and maintenance backlog items Target Audience Potential and Current Students, Faculty and Staff Charter Develop and implement a long-term plan to reduce the maintenance backlog across campus, as well as address any ADA/DOI compliance issues Strategic Goals Identify, prioritize, and execute the repair of key maintenance backlog items and known ADA/DOI deficiencies through the use of one-time state funds on a recurring basis 2013 - 2014 Approved Priorities 1. Replace Cameron Hall Fire Alarm System 2. Replace Trask Cooling Tower 3. Design the replacement of Randall Library Fire Alarm System 4. Replace Morton Hall Chiller 5. Replace Warwick Fire Alarm System 6. Design the modification to the Nixon Annex Entrance 7. Install automatic door openers to Warwick, Dobo, Bear, and Alderman 8. Begin Elevator Upgrades across campus Performance Targets Reduce the number of ADA/DOI deficiencies and maintenance backlog items. Maintenance Backlog is currently $214M. Core Team Members Tom Freshwater, Ed Shuford, Sharon Baucom, Mark Morgan, Stan Harts, and Sarah Schaeffer Project Management 1. If project costs come in under budget, the funds will be used for the next priority project, staying within the annual total budget amount 2. Funds realigned into Banner 1XXXX 3. Each item will have a unique special project code and a Banner 8-Fund 4. Each project will be classified as a Chancellor Approved project to ensure carry-forward of unexpended funds into subsequent the year 5. A Mid-Year Review will be conducted to track the progress 6. Process updated annually in the spring with final priortized list completed by July 1st
