1. Transfer
Articulation
http://appserv02.uncw.edu/dasapps/transfer_articulation/transferArt.aspx
UNCW’s transfer equivalency report for Walt Disney: State – FL, School-Walt
Disney. Lists courses available accepted by UNCW
2. Disney Courses
Use Transfer Articulation to pick which Disney course/s you want to take. Do
NOT take more than two – you will be working full-time. Courses are free but
you must purchase materials/books.
3. Transient Study
Must be completed before heading to Disney through Seaport if you are taking
classes at Disney. No credits until after completion of coursework and Disney
work. This is used as an advising tool. Disney shows up in Registrar’s Office
as Leave of Absence.
4. Financial Aid
If on financial aid, consider taking one UNCW online course to prevent loss of
aid and having bills due. Talk to Freeman Whitney in Financial Aid,
whitneyj@uncw.edu. If you are receiving loans, please get loan information to
Diane Reed (reedd@uncw.edu) before you leave. A Disney Internship letter
will be faxed to your loan company before you start your internship.
5. Housing
At UNCW: if you live on campus, must see Housing & Residence Life.
At Disney: Complete online through Disney program. Watch for when it opens!
6. Dining / Meal Plans
Check with Campus Dining about your meal plan!
7. Course Registration
Drop
If you are registered for courses during Disney semester, be sure to drop them
so you don’t get billed, unless you signed up for online courses.
8. Health Insurance
Be sure you are covered (by parents, Health Center, etc). Verify it’s valid. Can
check to see if it’s offered through Disney.
9. Academic Advising
Be sure your academic advisor knows you are doing your semester at Disney.
Stay in touch with advisor to get advising and PIN to register for classes. May
end up getting later registration date.
Talk to your advisor before you go about the classes you want to register for
the following semester while you are at Disney – Plan ahead!
10. ACE
Transcript requests. Cost $40 to register which includes one transcript. Cost
$15 per transcript after. Students must initiate this process while at Disney
and stay on top of it.
11. Email
Be sure Registrar’s Office will keep your email open. I will email them list of
Disney participants each semester.
12. Internship Credit
No 498 credit for Disney in Communication Studies. UNCW will give credit
hours towards degree. Internship credit MUST be on ACE transcripts unless
you register for internship credit through UNCW and pay tuition.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
 If you are terminated, you have 24 hours to get off Disney property
 If you audition for character role, follow Disney site for audition dates and locations
 Never be late – no excuses. Always follow protocol or you will be terminated
 I will email Registrar’s Office the list of participants to keep your email open
