Honorable Mention: One or more finalists will be awarded an honorable mention award in the following categories: • All entries must be received by April 11th, 2014. • Graphic Design • • Digital/Conventional Illustration Work submitted must be original work created within the last year. • All entries must have an instructor signature on the entry form. • Finalists will be notified via email and/or posting finalist list on the Graphic Design website at: cod.edu/design. • Entries will not be returned. • All 1st place, finalist, and honorable mention award work will be displayed at: 1st Place Award: One high school student will be selected for each category: • Graphic Design • Illustration CATEGORIES Illustration Entries to the category can include any of the following types of illustration: Product Illustration, packaging illustration, illustrated map, illustrative logo series, product illustration, greeting card illustrations, editorial illustration (magazine cover, feature article illustration, spot illustration series, newspaper arts section illustration), technical illustration (exploded views, step-by-step assembly illustration) skateboard illustration series, snowboard illustration series, book illustration (children’s illustrated book, book cover), wearable illustration (t-shirts, caps, etc.), and poster illustration. Graphic Design Entries to the category can include any of the following types of graphic design: Posters (1 or series), brochures, folders, cards (greeting card, invitation, announcement) menus, bookmark series, icon set (4-6), information graphics, catalogs, magazine layout (cover, TOC, feature spread), newspaper layout, newsletters, flyers, books (cover design, book spread), calendars (full year or one complete season), logos, packaging design, character design, pop-up cards, books, bags, tags and labels, etc. SUBMISSION DEADLINE: APRIL 11, 2014 Portfolio Night 2014 May 8th, 2014 College of DuPage, SRC 2000 6 to 9 p.m. • Finalists will be notified prior to the May 8th event. All entrants are welcome to invite friends and family to the event. The invitation is available at: http://www.cod.edu/design Invitations will also be mailed to professional advertising and design firms in the Chicagoland area. • High School student work will be judged by a panel of Graphic Design faculty. • Judges assume that all entries submitted are original works created by the entrants. Judges are not responsible for work that misrepresents the copyright or original ownership of the ideas, images, or entries. Judges’ decisions are final and binding.
