Jurée Capers Political Science Graduate School Award
The Jurée Capers Political Science Graduate School Award has been established by
Dr. Kenneth J. Meier, Charles H. Gregory chair in liberal arts, Department of
Political Science at Texas A&M University, in honor of K. Jurée Capers.
K. Jurée Capers is an assistant professor in the Department of Public Management
and Policy at the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies of Georgia State
University. She received her Ph.D. in political science from Texas A&M
University in 2013 and earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and
psychology from Winthrop University in 2008.
The Jurée Capers Political Science Graduate School Award provides $1,000 to a
graduating senior in political science who intends to pursue a graduate degree.
Academic performance, undergraduate research, civic engagement, and financial
need will all be considered in the selection of each year’s recipient.
Please submit a copy of your transcripts, a resume/CV, and a statement of
purpose for graduate study. In your statement of purpose, please include
the graduate schools to which you have applied or intend to apply, and
whether or not you have yet been notified of your acceptance.
Application materials are due to be submitted to Kayla Davis, political science program
assistant, in Bancroft 346 by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2015.
