MARCH 6, 2016 Wyandot Physical Education Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart What is new in PE? I would like to welcome Amanda Jelley from The Ohio State University to Wyandot. Amanda will be student teaching in physical education with students in grades 1-5 during March and April. She is off to a great start and I am looking working with her and I am sure your children will learn and have fun with her as well. Kai, Abbey, Logan, Ben, Ryan, Rocco, Addy, Jake, Eric Wyandot raised $7639.50 for The American Heart Association during our Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart event this year in physical education! This money will go to help save lives by funding innovative lifesaving heart research. It will also provides educational resources to teach us how to live a heart healthy life! A special thank you to the nine students pictured above who collected the most donations. Together they raised $ 2850.44! Kai Ellsworth was the top donator raising $500.44. When I asked him why he was so motivated for this cause he replied that he wants to people with sick hearts. He has a personal connection telling me that his grandfather had a heart attack, but is healthy today. He also said his dad was his biggest supporter. I am honored and touched by how our Wyandot students, parents and community support heart health.
