Reading Workshop- Global Read Aloud: Amy Krouse Rosenthal, Week
#6: Spoon, This Plus That, using “Padlet” to post our thinking and
connect with other 1st graders around the country, Lulu And The
Brontosaurus, Happy, What is a folktale?, what is a fable?, Collection
of Fables, what is Reader’s Theater?, began practicing with our
Reader’s Theater groups, finding important parts in our books, finding
funny parts/important parts/connections in our books, sharing our
reading thinking with a buddy/whole class, discussing our favorite
part, writing a response about our favorite part
!
Writing Workshop – Yes Day!, created a shared writing based on Yes
Day, continue working on our own narratives, Friday letter to mom
and dad
!
Word Study - “ack” and “ank”, “If I can spell…”, making words,
picture sort, Assessment was today, Thursday, 11/12/15
!
Math - Clocks, Clocks, Clocks, telling time to the hour and half hour,
story problems, writing our own story problems, end of the trimester
assessments
