Update on Health Career
and Natural Science
Building
questions about the
PN role; differences
in work
responsibilities;
earning power.
Caputi: Stated that
students are doing
standardized testing;
possibly by January
could establish
benchmarks; Waller:
Concern for students
not meeting the
admission criteria,
no experience with
the LPN admission
packet to compare
with the ADN
admission, any
developmental
needs; concern for
interviewing
variables. Caputi:
there is not much
difference in the
plan from PN to RN.
Ryan: questions
should we be more
selective for the PN,
should there be
concern for their
transition to the
role? Caputi:
emphasized that we
should not stifle
someone’s career
pathway, many have
made successful
transition from PNto-RN-to- BSN;
these discussions are
healthy
