Temple Spring Assessment Social
o 830 start: Keynote speech and workshop
o Afternoon is social part
 Work in collaborative groups
 Both will report in the summer on how the events worked out
Pilot School for New Standards: Widener- Brigitte Valesey

Offered to share the experience of accreditation with the new standards
First impressions:
o Much more student focused than before looking at experiences and results
o Much more streamlined where assessment is interlaced into every aspect

o Occur during the overall meeting in the future starting in June
o 1 hour for big meeting/half hour for subcommittee meeting

Steve recently sent out email to 7000 list including participants from last year and also
purchased lists from contiguous regions
Confirmed speaker from Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) to speak
about new standards
Jodi Levine from Temple to speak about strategic planning
It was suggested that a panel from PHEAL to speak about the group and how it was formed
o Benefits of sharing events to combat limitations of constrained resources
o It would be geared towards groups where colleges are close together and nor remote
o Quick presentation then followed by lots of questions
o Gloria, Krishna and Phyllis to put together proposal
New venue for reception for this year: Philadelphia Visitor’s Center
o Moved to 2nd day based on suggestions from last year
o University of the Arts ensemble agreed to play for the group
New sponsorship opportunity page was displayed
Proposal review process is important
o Reducing concurrents and opening up to more registrants and call for proposals
o Could make it much more competitive for this year
o Will have reviewers from PHEAL to join the process
