Dear Alumni:
2003 marked my final year as President of
the Methodist College Alumni Association. It
has been a humbling experience to serve you, the
I invite each of you to return to the College on
October 22-24, 2004 for Homecoming Weekend.
Many exciting events are being planned, including
the 40th reunion of the Class of 1964, our first
alumni of the College. I feel confident that I have
done my best to attain the goals of the Association,
as well as the personal goals I had set for myself
graduating class.
If you have not already done so, please take
time to assist the Alumni Office and the Alumni
four years ago.
Many alumni joined hands in 2003 to help the
Board of Directors by filling out the new alumni
survey. You can fill out the survey by going to www.
methodisr.edu/ alumni/ survey.htm. We want to hear
College come closer in raising $11 million for the
Seeds on Good Soil, A New Season campaign. While
every gift is important, I want to particularly thank
those alumni who made a commitment to join the
Honorable Monarch Society. If you have not already
done so, let me again encourage you to consider
joining this special giving society which recognizes
those who make a commitment of $1,000 or more
over a three-year period.
Alumni can support Methodist
College in
many ways, not just with monetary gifts. Other
ways to help our alma mater include attending
regional alumni events and coming back to
campus for athletic events, musical! cultural
performances, and speaking to a group of students
offering career advice and guidance. Perhaps the
most important gift you make is the gift of a new
student, who one day will become a fellow member
of the Alumni Association.
from you on ways to improve alumni programming
and more importantly Methodist College.
In looking to the future, our association has an
excellent and dedicated board of directors headed
by our new president, Nona D. Fisher '88. Under
her leadership, along with a committed board, the
Alumni Association will continue to playa key role
in the life and mission of the College.
~r
Thanks again for your continued
support.

Alumni can assist in recruiting new students by offering the
Greatest Gift Scholarship.
Each academic year, the College allows
alumni to award one scholarship to a full-time day student that
he or she actively recruits for undergraduate
admission.
Last year, 123 alumni assisted in recruiting new students to
Methodist
College, and a total of 298 students received a Greatest
Gift Scholarship.
As a result, $192,937 was awarded in financial
aid. Thank you for helping with our recruiting efforts.
