Students with disabilities may request reasonable modifications by contacting your C&I 160 instructor. The University of Montana assures equal access to instruction through collaboration between students with disabilities, instructors, and Disability Services for Students (DSS). “Reasonable” means the University permits no fundamental alterations of academic standards or retroactive modifications. (For other options, see http://www.umt.edu/disability). 2. Late submissions: A standard policy of subtracting 10% per weekday past the due date will be applied. Always inform your professors when a problem arises that might affect your ability to complete coursework. 3. Regular attendance is crucial to earning a passing grade in this class. Your grade is based upon the points you earn during the semester. If you miss an in-class activity, you cannot make it up. If you miss a scheduled online exam, you have the opportunity to make it up within 24 hours, but for half points. 4. You may earn a maximum of 20 points extra credit in C&I 160. You’ll have opportunities to access campus resources and attend a conference. Details will be shared with you during the course of the semester. 5. A passing grade of C- or above is required for continued participation in the TRIO Student Support Services program. Per funding regulations, there is no option to retake this class. 6. All course activities are governed by the Student Conduct Code, which embodies the ideals of academic honesty, integrity, human rights, and responsible citizenship. All students must practice academic honesty. Academic misconduct is subject to an academic penalty by the course instructor and/or a disciplinary sanction by the University. All students need to be familiar with the Student Conduct Code. The Code is available for review online http://life.umt.edu/VPSA/student_conduct.php. 7. University policy now requires that all correspondence between faculty and students be conducted using official UM email addresses only, unless correspondence is initiated by the student from an alternative email address. *TRiO SSS is funded each year at $437,886, 93% of which is federal funds.
