6th Grade Curriculum Night
6th Grade Teams
• Students from SCES, WES, GRES, and IRES will be all
together to form KMS Team 6-1 and Team 6-2
• The teams will be balanced by:
- Academics
- Gender
- Music Selections
• There will be a common group of four to six teachers
assigned to each team
• There is a Team Leader assigned to coordinate each
team: Mr. Miller (6-1) & Ms. Bishop (6-2)
• The Team Leader helps facilitate the needs of the
students as well as the concerns of the parents
6th Grader’s Day at KMS
All Academic Core Classes Meet Daily.
Language Arts – 100 minute block every
day
Math, Social Studies, and Science
courses will meet for 50 minutes daily.

Fifth Grade Orientation
All incoming 6th grade students and parents
August 10, 2016 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM
Students will meet with team teachers
• Schedules, Lockers, Lunch, First Day, etc.
• Pictures and IDs
Parents will have an informational meeting at the same
time in the gym
Walk Through Days
• Walk-Through Days on Aug 11th and 12th
• Thursday, Aug 11 from 9 am to 1 pm
• Friday, Aug 12 from 1 pm to 5 pm
• Walk the school and get familiar w/ KMS in a casual setting
• Drop of school supplies in your locker and practice
• Purchase a School Planner ($5.00)
• Purchase an Student Activity Pass or Family Pass
• Drop off paperwork
• Principals’ Welcome Picnic
