THE MISSION OF THE PGA GOLF MANAGEMENT UNIVERSITY PROGRAM SUMMER EXPERIENCE is to identify a diverse group of high school juniors and seniors interested in a career in golf and introduce them to the PGA of America’s Golf Management University program by offering a meaningful and rewarding educational experience on the campus of an accredited program. The PGA Golf Management University Program is a four-and-one-half to five year structured educational program designed for aspiring PGA Professionals. The college curriculum is accredited by the PGA of America and includes extensive classroom studies, internship experience and player development providing students the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for success in the golf industry. Since its inception in 1975, more than 3,640 graduates are current PGA of America members. Find out more about the Methodist University PGA Golf Management Program at methodist.edu/pgm CURRICULUM Students attending a PGA Golf Management University Program can graduate with a baccalaureate degree in several majors including Marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality Administration or Recreation and Park Management. In addition to classroom studies, each student is required to complete approved internships totaling 16 months at golf industry locales. Students also are required to complete all requirements of the PGA of America’s Professional Golf Management (PGM) Program and pass the PGA Playing Ability Test (PAT). These requirements satisfy a major portion of the PGA of America’s membership requirements.
