The Wisconsin Veterans Home at King which is located off Hwy 10 between Stevens Point and Appleton has a
full-time Dietetic Services Director vacancy. For more information about this facility go to this website:

Wisconsin Veterans and their families.
Salary: Starting salary will be between $25.006 to $33.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, plus an
excellent benefits package. The pay schedule/range is 81-02. A two year career executive trial period is
required.
Job Duties: Under the general direction of the Deputy Commandant, Division of Veterans Homes, Wisconsin
Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA), this position functions as the Dietary Services Director. This position
is responsible for directing, implementing and managing a complex interdisciplinary nutritional care system for
members in long term care facilities operated by WDVA governed by Federal and State laws, rules and
guidelines, OBRA, and Veterans Administration (VA) Codes. Responsibilities include assessing the nutritional
needs of members and determining available resources in meeting those nutritional needs and implementing
and managing the WDVA nutritional care system. The position provides general supervision over the Food
Service Administrator, certified clinical dietitians and administrative support positions.
Special Note:
Due to the nature of the position, WDVA will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection.
Licensure: Certification or eligibility for certification as a Dietitian by The Dietitians Affiliated Credentialing
Board in Wisconsin is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI), Minimum Data Set (MDS), and
Resident Assessment Protocols (RAPs); ability to plan and organize long range goals for a complex multifacility dietary services program; HIPPA and privacy related laws; food safety procedures and HACCP plan
development and implementation; current management theories and the principles and practices of
management and supervisory techniques; oral and written communication skills; computer skills i.e., word
processing programs and software for spreadsheet development; ability to prioritize tasks and organize work;
effective practice of team building concepts; and, ability to establish and maintain effective working
relationships with associates, subordinates, and management.
