Title: Wellness Coordinator Location: Columbia, SC, USA Details Administer Health and Fitness Services to Colonial Life employees, retirees and their families. Design and instruct aerobic and movement class offerings. Develop Participant Recruitment / Retention Strategies. Location: Columbia, SC Principal Duties and Responsibilities 1. Administer Health and Fitness Services to employees, retirees and their families. 2. Conduct Assessments including Medical History Review, Physical Fitness Evaluations and Medical Screenings. Interpret results for participants in a clear and understandable manner. 3. Conduct new member orientations and individualized consultation services. 4. Recommend and implement exercise programs that are safe and appropriate. 5. Recommend and implement short and long-term programming reflecting Health Strategy goals and objectives as well as member preferences. 6. Develop, implement and evaluate health enhancement programs and specialty programs. 7. Design health awareness materials such as bulletin boards, newsletter articles and handouts. 8. Design communications and marketing plans for programs. 9. Fitness Facility: • Coordinate staff schedule to ensure appropriate coverage. • Supervise exercising participants and monitor accordingly. • Perform administrative tasks associated with facility operations. • Assist with daily operations of facility. • Manage equipment and facility maintenance. • Develop marketing and member recruitment / retention strategies. • Develop and implement special programs and projects. • Focus on delivering results and superior customer service. • Instruct group exercise classes. • May perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: • Bachelors Degree in Exercise Physiology or related field with a minimum of 2 years work experience in the field (required) • ACSM or ACE personal training certification desirable. • ACE or similar certification in Group Exercise Instruction • CPR, First Aid and Blood Pressure Monitoring Certifications • Strong written and oral communication skills • Excellent organizational and project management skills with proven effectiveness in program planning, implementation and evaluations skills. • • Proven experience in the ability to explain and educate others - sensitive to others learning needs and styles. Proficiency in computer applications and Microsoft Office programs.
