The inputs on the switch are clearly indicated and will correspond to the device you wish to use. To operate the projector: 1.) Press the Display ON button on the Extron switch. (The ON button will blink for 10-15 seconds while the system warms up.) 2.) Select the appropriate video device using the INPUT buttons on the Extron switch. 3.) Adjust the VOLUME knob on the Extron switch to reach the desired level. On/Off Input Buttons 2 PROJECTOR Volume Knob Built-In Stereo Receiver Like video settings, the audio for all devices may be adjusted with the volume controls on the Extron switch. To adjust audio settings: 1.) Adjust the VOLUME knob on the Extron switch to reach the desired level. Note: When the computer is used for audio, sound is also controlled via the Windows System Volume. This may also need to be adjusted to reach the desired volume. 3 AUDIO SYSTEM Volume Knob Samsung SDP-860 Document Camera 1.) Turn on the projector by pressing the DISPLAY ON button on the Extron switch. (See page 2.) 2.) Use the DOC CAM input button on the Extron switch to select the document camera as the video source. 3.) Turn the document camera on by pressing the POWER button. (See illustration below.) 4.) To view the document camera on the teaching station monitor, along with the projector, press the SOURCE button marked on the monitor. Zoom Control Source 4 DOCUMENT CAMERA To use the document camera: Toshiba SD-V296 DVD/VCR Combo To use the VCR/DVD Combo: 1.) Turn on the projector by pressing the DISPLAY ON button on the Extron switch. (See page 2.) 2.) Use the DVD/VCR input button on the Extron Switch to select the combo player as the audio/video source. 3.) Turn on the combo player by pressing the POWER button and insert your media to begin playing. 4.) Use the VCR/DVD button on the combo player to select between playing a VHS Tape or a DVD. VGA Laptop Connection To connect a laptop computer: 1.) Plug the VGA cable into the VGA port on your laptop and, if audio is desired, plug the 1/8” stereo cable into your laptop’s headphone jack. 2.) To display the computer’s screen on the video projector, turn the projector on by pressing the Display ON button on the Extron switch. Then press the LAPTOP input button on the Extron Switch to select the laptop as the video source. Connecting to the Internet: This classroom is equi pped with an Ethernet cable allowing for wired internet access. It is advisable to use a wired connection whenever possible. Wireless internet connections are also available in most classrooms. For instructions on configuring your laptop, contact Help Desk at x4375 or visit www.uwsp.edu/IT/Network/Wireless. 5 DVD/VCR/LAPTOP (If your laptop does not have a VGA port, contact Tech Support for further assistance. Also, some laptops require proper configuration to utilize an external display. To configure your laptop accordingly, please refer to the instructions provided by your manufacturer.) HP Computer To use the computer: 1.) LOGON to the computer using your UWSP username and password. 2.) To display the computer’s screen on the projector, press the ON button on the Extron Controller. After the ON button stops flashing, press the PC button on the Extron Controller to select the computer as the audio/video source. Unlocking a computer: If the PC’s screen indicates that it has been locked by another user, you can unlock the system by restarting it. To restart a locked computer: 1.) Press and hold the POWER button on the computer until it shuts down (typically, you will need to hold the button for 5 to 10 seconds before the sequence will begin). 2.) Press the power button again to restart the PC. When the login screen appears, enter your UWSP username and password. NOTE TO USERS: 6 COMPUTER Please remember to logoff the computer when finished. After 60 minutes of inactivity, classroom computers will automatically lock, preventing subsequent users from logging on. If a computer has accidentally been left locked by another user, please see the section on “Unlocking a Computer” above.
