Follow the on-screen instructions to control the audio or video device of your choosing. TouchLink Volume Menu Program and microphone volume are adjusted directly within the TouchLink system. To adjust the program audio volume, use the volume knob located on the TouchLink display. To adjust microphone volume, or to unmute micrphones, select the “Mic Control” button on the TouchLink display. Please note that the microphones are muted by default and must be unmuted before use. Mic Control Button Volume Knob If playing sound through the PC, volume can also be adjusted within Windows’ system volume settings. If no audio is delivered to the speakers, or if insufficient volume occurs during playback, be sure to check these settings before proceeding. Select DOC CAM from the TouchLink display (See page 2.) 4 DOCUMENT CAMERA To use the document camera: Panasonic AG1330 VCR 1.) Select VCR from the TouchLink display. (See page 2.) Windows Media DVD Player While this room is not equi pped with a dedicated DVD player, DVDs can be played through the PC’s DVD drive. 1.) Select PC from the TouchLink Display. (See page 2.) 2.) Insert your DVD into the PC’s DVD drive. 3.) If video playback software does not automatically open, launch Windows Media Player from the application menu. 5 DVD/VCR To play a DVD: HP Computer To use the computer: 1.) LOGON to the computer using your UWSP username and password. 2.) Select PC from the TouchLink display (see the “PROJECTOR” page). Unlocking a computer: If the PC’s screen indicates that it has been locked by another user, you can unlock the system by restarting it. To restart a locked computer: 1.) Press and hold the POWER button on the computer until it shuts down (typically, you will need to hold the button for 5 to 10 seconds before the sequence will begin). 2.) Press the power button again to restart the PC. When the login screen appears, enter your UWSP username and password. NOTE TO USERS: Please remember to logoff the computer when finished. After 60 minutes of inactivity, classroom computers will automatically lock, preventing subsequent users from logging on. If a computer has accidentally been left locked by another user, please see the section on “Unlocking a Computer” above. VGA Laptop Connection To connect a laptop computer: Plug the VGA cable into the VGA port on your laptop and, if available, plug the 1/8” stereo cable into your laptop’s headphone jack. If your laptop does not have a VGA port, contact Tech Support for further assistance. Also, some laptops require proper configuration to utilize an external display. To configure your laptop accordingly, please refer to the instructions provided by your manufacturer. 2.) Select Laptop from the TouchLink display. (See page 2.) Connecting to the Internet: Many classrooms are equi pped with an Ethernet cable allowing for wired internet access. It is advisable to use a wired connection whenever possible. Wireless internet connections are also available in most classrooms. For instructions on configuring your laptop, contact Help Desk at x4375 or visit www.uwsp.edu/IT/Network/Wireless. VGA Cable 6 COMPUTER & LAPTOP 1.) Handheld and Lapel Microphones To use the lapel mic: 1.) Turn the mic’s body pack on by pressing and holding the Power/Mute button for approximately 1 second. When on,the power indicator light will turn green. 2.) From the TouchLink display, select the Mic Control button and unmute the lapel mic. 3) When finished, power off the body pack by pressing and holding the Power/Mute button for approximately 3 seconds. When off,the power indicator light will turn off. Power/Mute Button Power Indicator Light To use the handheld mic: 1.) Turn the mic’s power On. 2.) From the TouchLink display, select the Mic Control button and unmute the handheld mic. 3) When finished, switch the mic Off.
