Mr. Antwan L. Perry
Antwan L. Perry, M.Ed., of Northern Virginia, currently serves as the Director of
the Early College Academy at Germanna Community College (GCC). The
target population for the academy includes first-generation, low-income, and
underrepresented high school students. This program allows students to earn
an associate’s degree at no cost. Additionally, Mr. Perry serves as a special
projects manager with the Office of Student Success. He previously held the
position of Student Success Coach at GCC. His current teaching duties
include Student Development (SDV) courses.
Raised by a single mother, Mr. Perry “beat the odds” by becoming the first
person in his family to earn a college degree. His credentials include the
following: B.A. in Political Science, with an emphasis in Race Relations, from
Hampton University; M.Ed. in Student Affairs and Certificate of Advanced
Graduate Studies in Higher Education (CAGS), from Regent University. Mr. Perry
is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Education (Higher Education and Teaching)
program at Regent University. He has progressed to the dissertation phase of his
studies and expects to earn his doctorate by the end of 2016. The topic of his
research is “Black Male Student Success in Higher Education.”
