General University Scholarships are made available to students on behalf of the generosity of donors who have
made gifts to the University. Recipients are selected on the basis of the indicia of success, as measured by gpa
leadership attributes, and service to campus and community; and/or financial need, as determined by the UM
Financial Aid Office. If selected as a recipient of a General University Scholarship, your academic interests
and personal qualifications may be matched with a specific donor. Your scholarship may be contingent upon
our receipt of a short note of thanks to your donor.
Financial Need
Some General University Scholarships are restricted on the basis of financial need. Students must file the
2015/16 FAFSA by February 15th, and have need as determined by the University to qualify for a need-based
award.
