Wisconsin School Energy Manager Program Pairing Education and Energy Efficiency: A Whole-School Approach to Energy Management Getting Started Checklist Begin program registration and setup by completing the following steps in a timely manner. Sections may be completed either simultaneously or back-to-back during the school year. Our team will work closely with school faculty throughout the duration of the project, as needed. Staff and Student Engagement Participating faculty often include Lead Teacher, District Facility Manager or Head Custodian, Curriculum Director, and/or Principal. Review KEEP School Building Energy Efficiency Education course webpage Complete the Course Request Form Identify key faculty to participate during course o Review Guest Speaker Expectations for roles and time commitment Recruit minimum 8 teachers district-wide to enroll in course o Circulate Course Flyer and Registration Deliverables: Graduate-level teacher professional development and standards-based curricula for K-12 teachers Eligibility to apply for mini-grant opportunity Guidance to implement a school-wide energy-saving campaign through creation of Energy Action Plans Guidance to participate in state and federal Green Ribbon Schools program SEMP can offer teachers $424 tuition scholarships to cover the cost of 1 graduate credit from UW-Stevens Point. School Energy Efficiency Participating faculty often include District Facility Manager, Principal, and/or Superintendent. Review Municipal Energy Efficiency and Technical Assistance Program (MEETAP) website Complete the SEMP School Info Questionnaire for each participating building in the district o If this information is available in another format, you may provide that source instead Sign and return the Utility Release Form for your Electric and Gas Provider Schedule follow-up conference call or site visit with State Energy Office Deliverables: Creation of a 2015-2016 baseline of building energy consumption via EPA Energy Star Portfolio Manager Evaluation of school building performance data Guidance to identify low cost and no-cost ways to save energy and lower operating expenses in your building, and help identify where capital improvements can be implemented Guidance to participate in state and utility energy efficiency programs SEMP can offer one participating faculty a $100 stipend as compensation, if needed.
