Intevac Photonics innovation at the speed of light ® LIVAR M506 Laser Illuminated Viewing and Ranging System ® The Laser Illuminated Viewing and Ranging System (LIVAR) camera is ideal for covert operations and target identification. Cost-effective, compact and lightweight, this range-gated, two-dimensional imaging camera operates in eye-safe short wave infrared (SWIR) band, provides day and night coverage, and supports mounted and dismounted operations. Required components include the high voltage power supply (HVPS) and thermal electric cooler controller (TECC), both sold separately. LIVAR M506 Working in conjunction with a FLIR camera to detect a threat at range, LIVAR sets the range gate for the target location and then provides a stream of high-resolution digital images for positive identification. These capabilities increase the effectiveness of weapons systems and reduce the risk of unintended civilian casualties and fratricide. The LIVAR M506 offers system integrators a highly advanced long range surveillance camera at a low cost. applications • Airborne, ground and maritime applications • Long range reconnaissance and surveillance applications FEATUREs • Operates in eye-safe short wave infrared (SWIR) band IR image at 2 km • Small, rugged sensor works in conjunction with existing FLIR devices • Low power • Unmatched SWIR sensitivity • High resolution imagery for positive stand-off combat identification • Penetrates battlefield obscurants, windshields and windows Targets identified with LIVAR at 2 km LIVAR M506 Laser Illuminated Viewing and Ranging System ® SPECIFICATIONS CAMERA SENSOR Photocathode TE Photocathode Video Output CameraLink® or Hot Link Focal Plane Array 1280 H x 1024 V (8.576 mm x 6.861 mm) Control Interface RS232, RS422 & LVDS Standard Resolution 640H x 480V (with pixels binned at 2 x 2) Power Consumption 3W Input Voltage 12 VDC Sensor Format 2/3 inch Size 1.8’W x 2.8”D x 2.6”H Element Size 13.4 µm (with pixels binned at 2 x 2) Weight 280 grams Pixel Size 6.7 µm Spectral Response 950 nm to 1650 nm ENVIRONMENTAL Quantum Efficiency ≥ 20% @ 1.55 µm Operating Temperature Limiting Resolution ≥ 28 lp/mm -40°C to +70°C; TEC required above 20°C Dark Current ~1 electron per pixel per µsec at room temperature Storage Temperature -51°C to 71°C Operating Altitude ≤ 15,000 feet Dynamic Range ≥ 48dB Operating Shock Percent Good Elements ≥ 99% 20 g’s peak value; 11 msec duration; 3 axes Frame Rate ≤ 30fps Operating Vibration 0.040 g2/Hz from 5 to 2000 Hz REQUIRED COMPONENTS High Voltage Power Supply (HVPS) Thermal Electric Cooler Controller (TECC) Power Consumption 1.2 W Power Consumption 22.2 W Input Voltage 12 VDC Input Power 6 VDC Minimum Gate Width ~ 70 ns Size 2.0” W x 1.8” H x 0.5” D Gate Rise & Fall Time ~ 65 ns Weight 118 grams Size 2.0” x 2.0” x 1.4” Weight 159 grams NOTE: This product is under the export control of the Office of Defense Trade Controls, U.S. Department of State, and is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
