Communication: Dustin Hollist, Sociology agreed to serve on the IIP Admissions Committee. Business Items The Council briefly discussed the program review document for MCLL. It was agreed that the Council’s role is to provide an objective view of the program, to highlight strengths and weaknesses from the reviewed documents. It is up to the administration to ask the difficult questions. The document was approved and will be sent to the department. The following Humanities curricular items were approved. History HSTR 418 UG HSTR 435 UG Research Seminar: Britain 1500-1800 Consolidate two existing courses, change for U to UG Latin America: Human Rights and the Politics of Memory Change the title from Latin America: Politics of Memory, change descr Philosophy Program program description Modification Update program requirements to be in line with the MA in Environmental Philosophy The Social Science Consent agenda (appended) was approved. There are several questions regarding the proposed Masters in Non Profit Administration and the changes to the current certificate program. PSC 406-410 require more complete syllabi and better defined graduate increments. PSC 502 is a core course for the graduate program and needs a stronger syllabus. There is a concern that most of the courses are taught by adjunct faculty. Representatives of the program will be invited to a meeting to discuss the issues. A revised graduate increment is also pending for COMM 425 UG. The meeting was adjourned at 1:00 PM.
