Missoula Economic Partnership identified a high concentration of technology workers as a critical
characteristic in strengthening the Missoula economy and attracting new businesses to the region.
Responding to the call for building this workforce is an important component of Missoula College's Mission.
We have seen an enhanced emphasis in our society to educate more individuals in programming, coding,
application development, and computational thinking.
The option name Information Systems Management has existed for nearly 20 years, and has yet to
updated
or revised. In 2014, the requirements for the Information Technology (IT) AAS degree Information
Systems Management Option were revised to include additional coursework covering topics in computer
science
and programming.
