Please explain/justify the new proposal or change. 
These changes are made based upon program assessment conducted Fall 2013 and Accounting Technology Advisory Committee suggestions. Below please see
applicable content from notes of February 6, 2014 Accounting Technology Advisory Committee:
Curriculum Changes: Extended discussion ensued surrounding the curriculum for students solely pursuing the A.A.S. in Accounting Technology. The committee
agreed on changes as follows:
 Offer option between CSCI 172 (Introduction to Computer Modeling) and CAPP156 (MS Excel) due to curriculum overlap. The committee agreed with Lisa’s
approach to add some business problems to be solved with Excel into Capstone.
 Replace BUS210 (Critical Analysis for Business) with Introduction to Technical Writing (WRIT121). This was based on discussion that students that are
stopping at an A.A.S. don’t need to be essayists, they need to analyze and write technical memos, reports and letters.
V Copies and Electronic Submission
Once approved, the original, a paper copy and an electronic file are submitted to the Faculty Senate Office, UH 221 (camie.foos@mso.umt.edu).
VI Department Summary Required if several proposals are submitted. In a separate document list program title and proposed change of all proposals.
