Please explain/justify the new proposal or change.
AACSB requires that at least half of the coursework in business be taken in residence at the AACSBaccredited institution. Many AACSB-accredited institutions expand this requirement to the courses taken in the junior and senior year within the specific major. This ensures that students graduating with a business degree from an AACSB-accredited institution have taken most of their major-specific coursework from that institution. The proposed residency requirement does not expand the number of credits to be taken in residence, but it directs the students to which credits must be taken in residence.
Specific courses listed are generally taken in the student’s senior year.
Once approved, the original, a paper copy and an electronic file are submitted to the Faculty Senate
Office, UH 221 (camie.foos@mso.umt.edu).
Required if several proposals are submitted. In a separate document list program title and proposed change of all proposals.
