Please explain/justify the new proposal or change. 
To accompany the new courses proposed for our acting majors, a change in requirements for the area of
specialization is required. In addition, we recognize that students will benefit from being provided an option
that allows them to focus on continued advanced vocal training for non-musical theatre should they desire
it. We also seek to add a credit/no-credit Senior Project as an official course. Presently, students are
required to complete a senior project for no credit. By adding this one credit-Senior Project class to the
curriculum, the faculty will have more control over the quality of the students’ final project.
What other programs are affected by your proposal?
Obtain signatures as requested above.
V Copies and Electronic Submission
Once approved, the original, a paper copy and an electronic file are submitted to the Faculty Senate
Office, UH 221 (camie.foos@mso.umt.edu).
VI Department Summary Required if several proposals are submitted. In a separate document
list program title and proposed change of all proposals.
