CSAC NEWS
October 2010
Welcome from the Chancellor:
I want to welcome each of you to a wonderful new year at UWSP and to thank
the many of you whom I have met personally during my first few months on
campus.
Cinda and I couldn't be more delighted to be part of this university and this
community. The great work you do to keep UWSP moving forward is at the
heart of the Pointer experience for our students. So many Classified employees
are on the front lines of interaction with our students and their families, and
your work helps create the first impressions that are so important. Thank you
for everything you do, each day, to make UWSP a great university!
I look forward to getting to know more and more of you in the coming weeks
and months and I want you to know that your thoughts and concerns about the
university are very important to me.
Sincerely,
Bernie

CLASSified AcCenT
The CLASSified AcCenT section features interviews with classified employees selected at random.
If you will note, the capital letters in the title spell CLASS ACT.
That is just what our employees are -- a class act!
∼ ∼ ANTHONY WALTER ∼ ∼
Anthony Walter has been the Human Resource Assistant in the
Personnel Services department since March 2010. His main job duties
include recruitment of Classified Staff (Administrative Support & Blue
Collar), and the administration of the Limited-Term Employment (LTE)
Program. His favorite part of his job is meeting new people and
interacting with different departments across campus. The friendly staff
and great working environment are what Anthony likes best about working
at UWSP. His most memorable event so far has been Chancellor
Patterson’s address to the campus this Fall. Before coming to UWSP,
Anthony worked at A&B Process Systems in Stratford, WI, as the Employment Coordinator in the
Human Resource department there.
Anthony was born and raised in Loyal, WI, on a 300 acre dairy farm. He graduated from Loyal High
School and received an Associates Degree in Business Administration & Human Resources from Mid
State Technical College. He enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, biking, camping,
gardening, and four-wheeling, reading, watching movies, and spending time with family. He and his wife
of 4 years, Summer, have no children yet, but with 15 nieces and nephews, his 3 brothers and 1 sister
have high expectations for him!
Anthony’s advice to graduates entering the workforce is, “Anything is possible if you put your mind to it,
and find what you love to do and make a career out of it.”
