Purpose of Scholarship:
This scholarship will financially assist students seeking a Lourdes’ Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood
Education.
Eligibility Criteria:
 Resident of Wood County or is employed by St. Aloysius School
 Student in Lourdes’ Early Childhood Education BA degree program
 Minimum GPA of 2.0
 Must fully complete the 2016-17 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) process at Lourdes.
How to apply (Incomplete/late applications are not considered)
Return this completed application and attach a typed 300 word essay stating your goals, objectives, and how the
scholarship would enhance your teaching ability
Essays will be judged on grammar, spelling, presentation, as well as content
Notification
Recipient(s) of the scholarship are notified through the Financial Aid Award Letter process which is based on the
completion of the 2016-17 FAFSA process at Lourdes. Therefore, notification will vary depending on the date of
the recipient’s completion of this process.
Responsibility of Recipient(s) - before payment can be made:
Recipient will receive a Financial Aid Award Letter and a request to complete the “Thank You Letter” process. The
“Thank You Letter” should look professional and be addressed to “To Whom it May Concern.” Be sure to mention
the name of the scholarship within the body of the letter. The Letter must be received at the Financial Aid Office
before the award can be paid.
