Note: Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Application materials will NOT be returned. All scholarship applicants must be UM declared art majors enrolled as full-time students (12 or more credits for undergraduate students, 9 credit or more for graduate students), at the sophomore level or above at the time the scholarship is received, with an overall grade point average of 3.0, who demonstrate exceptional talent in both technical and creative abilities. TO APPLY, PLEASE SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING: 1) This form, completed. 2) A current, unofficial transcript, (available via Cyberbear) 3) A one-page document that includes: a. A 3-5 sentence artist statement addressing your artwork with regards to form, subject matter, and content. b. 3-5 sentences listing art-related exhibitions, awards, honors, events, service, publications, workshops, or leadership activities in which you have recently participated. c. A brief statement of your financial need and how you would use an art scholarship. d. A description of your future career intentions, specifically regarding your engagement in the arts. 4) A portfolio of seven digital image files, (JPEG, 72 dpi, 1000 pixel maximum in any direction, collated in a Power Point presentation) of recent work that demonstrates your ability and serious pursuit of art. Two of the images may be of details. Each image must be clearly marked with your name, title, date, size, and media. These images AND the one page document must be submitted on a disc. The only paper accepted is the Cyberbear Transcript and this form. Some scholarship are influenced by gender, location, GPA, year of study and areas of study.
