Summer Internship Program - Full-Time Seasonal Forest Technicians
Prentiss & Carlisle, a leading forest management firm headquartered in Bangor, Maine, is looking for several
energetic and reliable individuals to work on an internship basis during the summer as part of its Lake States
Regional team. The P&C Lake States staff manages woodlands and provides timberland services in Wisconsin
and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to varied clientele.
Each position to be filled is a summer internship as a forest technician that will be cruising and marking
timber in northern Wisconsin or the western U.P. in a variety of forest types. Interns will locate in close
proximity to the properties on which they will be working, with daily communication and oversight from the
District or Area Forester charged with overseeing that particular tract.
Ideal candidates will have a solid work ethic, commitment to team success, high level of integrity, and be
capable of completing work with limited supervision. Long days in varied weather and environmental
conditions are to be expected and must be worked through accordingly. Traversing over rough and difficult
terrain is to be expected. This is a paid internship position; hourly with no benefits. Any overnight travel and
lodging expenses will be reimbursed or pre-arranged on a per project basis by supervisor. Some use of
personal vehicle will likely be necessary, so a vehicle capable of transporting to/from work in the deep woods
is highly preferable. Mileage will be reimbursed. On-the-job training to P&C standards will be applied. All
equipment will be provided.
