The P&C Lake States staff manages woodlands and provides timberland services in Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to varied clientele. The position to be filled is a full-time permanent forest technician located in the Ironwood, MI area. The position will be working primarily to assist project foresters in providing forestry services to clients served on the Gogebic/Penokee Range. This includes numerous projects related to timber marking and cruising in the western U.P. and northern Wisconsin, as well as field assistance with other consulting projects. Some overnight work across the region will also be encountered. Ideal candidates will be highly motivated self-starters and have a solid work ethic, commitment to team success, high level of integrity, and be capable of completing work with limited supervision. Long days in varied weather and environmental conditions are to be expected and must be worked through accordingly. Traversing over rough and difficult terrain is to be expected. The position will be salaried with benefits, paid weekly. Travel and lodging expenses will be reimbursed or pre-arranged on a per project basis by P&C supervisor. Company vehicle will be issued. On-the-job training to P&C standards will be applied. All equipment will be provided.
