A factor of 1.183 for DF and 1.368 for WF has been multiplied into the adjustment factor. Base Indexes are normally the indexes for the last month of the previous quarter; however, the current month's indexes are authorized when at least two species' indexes have changed more than 10 percent from the current level. One of these two indexes must be a dimension species, such as Coast or Inland Douglas fir, white fir, or whitewoods. Forests will be notified when there are changes to the Base Indexes. To insure that the most recent data is being used in the R5 appraisal system, information such as the WWPA indices and the California Harvest Value Schedules may be used in the R5 appraisal system as soon as they become publicly available.
