Press Release For Immediate Release Trilithic’s Media Contact: Karalee Slayton Director Marketing & Communications 317 423-6604 kslayton@trilithic.com Trilithic Provides Digital EAS Upgrade for Pentagon CENS Indianapolis, Indiana (Friday, July 14, 2006) Trilithic, a leading provider of Government-mandated Emergency Alert Systems, announced today, they have updated their EASyPLUS™ Emergency Alert System for digital EAS and integrated it with the Pentagon’s CENS (Computer Emergency Notification Software). Army Television operates the digital cable television system within the Pentagon and surrounding buildings and has used the Trilithic EAS system fully integrated with its CENS system since June 2003. With digital cable television settops and servers being deployed by Army Television, the Pentagon ordered the EAS system be upgraded to the EASyPLUS Digital platform and maintain full integration with the CENS servers. CENS, Computer Emergency Notification Software, is a computer network notification software platform which can deliver both emergency and informational crawl messages to all terminals and displays on the network within 10 to 20 seconds. These messages usually originate from the Pentagon Force Protection Agency and display on all terminals on the network almost instantaneously after a text file is dropped onto its server. Trilithic’s EASyPLUS Encoder/Decoder also runs a CENS protocol receiving server and picks up the same messages on the EAS system and displays them on all analog televisions and digital set tops in the form of a crawl message, along with an emergency audio notification/interruption. Army Television personnel can make a software selection telling the EAS system whether to interrupt local EAS activations, such as weather warnings, with the CENS messaging overrides. Trilithic has supplied EAS equipment at the Pentagon since 1999. In addition to their standard product Trilithic is frequently called in to provide customization for critical applications. The EASyPLUS platform has the flexibility to deliver the custom requirements of the CENS. Terry Bush, president of Trilithic states, “EAS is at a critical juncture with the changes in technology and the expectations from the market. Trilithic expects to be a critical component of the development of the system to meet the technological and market needs.” ABOUT TRILITHIC: Trilithic, Inc. is an industry leader providing telecommunications solutions for major Broadband and RF & Microwave markets around the world.
