o California now offers its own Earned Income Tax Credit (Cal
EITC) starting with calendar year 2015 tax returns. This is a new
refundable tax credit that puts money back in the pockets of
California’s working families and individuals this tax season.
We are trying to encourage Taft College students to apply for
this Earned Income Tax Credit.

fun games! Take this time away from studies and enjoy the

 Early Childhood Experiences in Earth Science
o Date: Wednesday, April 6th
o Time: Check-in, Dinner and Networking begin at 5:30pm.
Presentation begins promptly at 6:00pm

o This interactive workshop will highlight the Science Domain
from Volume 3 of the California Preschool Learning
Foundations and the Preschool Curriculum Framework with a
focus on Earth Science. Teachers will learn new strategies to
enrich children’s scientific inquiry skills through everyday
explorations and planned experiences.
 Taft Relay for Life Fundraiser
o Date: Thursday, April 14th

o Location: TC Quad or Cafeteria Banquet Room (Conn Expo)
o The Taft College ASB will be coordinating with Taft’s Relay for
life in organizing an auction to help raise money for the cause. I
silent auctions will be held during the morning and the winners
will be announced that afternoon.

 NSLS Cooke Sale

The NSLS will be selling a variety of delicious cookies to help
raise money for the club.
Women’s Soccer Auction Fundraiser
o Date: Tuesday, April 19th and Wednesday, April 20th
o Location: TC Quad
o Time: 12 pm (during spring fling week)
o The members of the 2015 women’s soccer team will be
“auctioned” off in an effort to help raise money for the
upcoming 2016 team. Each member will have a profile page
available for sponsors to review before bidding.
Rolling Chariots

o The APT has invited the Rolling Chariots out again to compete
in the annual basketball game against Taft College
administration, faculty, staff, and students.
