The Wisconsin Center for Environmental Education in the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point
College of Natural Resources is partnering with Bilkent University to offer an opportunity to study
natural resources and environmental education in Turkey. This program offers a unique occasion for
Wisconsin teachers to expand their global understanding of natural resources in Dalyan, Turkey, and
to work with Turkish high school students and teachers, as well as graduate students. Dalyan is a
small, historic village on the southwest corner of Turkey’s Mediterranean coast surrounded by pineclad hills, cotton fields, and miles of untouched coastline. The program will be led by Dr. Becca
Franzen, from UWSP, and Dr. Jennie Lane, former director of the KEEP Program and currently a faculty
member at Bilkent University.
