A. Exercise and Sport Science-Exercise Science Emphasis
1. Required course change and elective change; changes to admission;
effective Fall 2011. Under core classes, Pre-Professional Track- #2 added “a
BIO or MIC course excluding BIO 105, BIO 312 or 313”; #3 added “PSY 100
or 212 or any 3 credits of PSY course work taken from another institution”; #4
added “any 3 credit SOC course”; #5 removed and # 6 moves to #5.

B. Educational Studies
1. SPE 207-new course, “Teaching Students with Hearing Loss in Elementary
Classrooms”, 3 credits, repeatable for credit, maximum 6, effective Fall 2011,
offered Fall, Spring, Summer. After consultation with Modern Language
Department, course title was changed to “Teaching Students with Hearing
Loss in Elementary Classrooms”, course description changed for second
read consideration. REMOVED repeatable for credit.
2. SPE 214, new course, “Teaching Students with Hearing in
Intermediate/Middle Level Classrooms”, 3 credits, repeatable for credit,
maximum 6, effective Fall 2011, offered Fall, Spring, Summer. After
consultation with Modern Language Department, course title was changed to
“Teaching Students with Hearing Loss in Intermediate/Middle Level
Classrooms”, course description changed for second read consideration.
REMOVED repeatable for credit.

C. College of Liberal Studies- General Education Substitution
 Substituted ENG 277 from UW-Milwaukee for ENG 200, Literature
and Human Experience, 3 credits.

Consent Item:
A. College of Liberal Studies
1. Military Science- MS 103-deletion, effective Fall 2011. Deleted the course
because it has not been offered for more than 5 years and this course is now
offered in the 300 level.
VIII.
Appeal
A. College of Science and Health
 Request to waive 1 credit in Humanistic Studies and the Arts on the
Associate Degree. Student has 8 qualifying credits but needs 9. All
other aspects of the associate degree are satisfied, and student has
a total of 76.5 earned credits (Associate Degree requires a minimum
of 60 credits).
Approved appeal to waive 1 credit to receive Associate Degree

Old Business: Correction on April 12, 2011 minutes
Under-III. Student Appeal Documents-D.
AddedRequest a waiver of the General Education Math requirement. Student completed all
degree requirements except the one math course. Medical disability document is on
file.
