Consent Item:
1. The Music Department is clarifying existing practice in regards to students declaring
more than one emphasis in music. The catalog will be changed to indicate that students
can have more than one emphasis, but that the second emphasis cannot be used to satisfy
requirements for a second major, minor, or program option. Also, the catalog should now
say non-education music emphasis students must be at “at 12 concerts per semester for
six semesters of attendance” to match the specific attendance requirement in the music
education emphasis.
2. The change to the Biochemistry major from February 2014 was updated by the
Chemistry Department to be effective to catalogs from Fall 2012 to catalogs from Fall
2011.
