Senate Library Committee Meeting Murphy Library, Room 121 November 16, 2012 Present: Steve McDougal (Chair), Kim DeFazio, Jen Holman, Sandra Koster, , Sumei Liu, Heather Mathison, Shelley Sinclair, Amy Wolff Guests: Bill Doehring , Stefan Smith, Kate Russell Excused: James Murray Bill Doehring reported on Primo which will better enable online searching across databases. The selection process took two years and should be up and running by February. A link will be sent out to this committee to further examine this and ask further questions Stefan Smith reported on library marketing to students using the money provided by the AIOC. While flexible, 80% of the money was allocated to be spent on faculty and 20% on students. Stefan brought a list of questions for the committee. He is interested in the prospect of visiting classes such as CST 100. We will discuss this more at the next meeting after we discuss this more with our departments. Kate Russell from Library Systems and Emerging Technology showed the mockup for the new library homepage which should have a similar look to the new UWL homepage. She hopes the page will go live in January. Student testing will be done to help in making adjustments. Old Business At present, no journal subscription issues need addressing.
